What cash drawer options are Available?

A cash drawer purchase presents more configurable options than any other piece of a standard POS system. The options that must be chosen when buying a cash drawer include the following:

• General strength – heavy, medium or light duty
• Construction – steel or stainless steel
• Drawer size – there are many configurations of cash drawer sizes
• Drawer front – media slots or no media slots (for storing checks etc.)
• Interface – serial, dedicated serial, printer, parallel, usb, etc.
• Drawer Insert (Till) – number of bill and coin slots, fixed or adjustable, currency type – US or other.
• Color – usually beige/white or gray/black
• Locking ability – manual or automatic
• Optional accessories – till covers, under counter mounting hardware
